Founded in 2002 by musicians Geoff Hemsley and Darius Khwaja, now based at the purpose-built Music Box on Union Street, Southwark, since 2017.
LCCM states it was the first UK college to require every student to study performance and production together, and calls itself 'the only music college in Zone 1', a claim worth treating as marketing shorthand rather than an independently verified fact. Since 2018 it has been owned by education group Global University Systems, following a rescue acquisition; this ownership isn't mentioned on LCCM's own site.
