Privacy policy

Last updated 13 August 2026.

Who we are

SoundSchooled (soundschooled.co.uk) is run by Mark Dunne. For anything on this page, or to exercise any of the rights below, email mark@soundschooled.co.uk.

What we collect

Browsing the site doesn't collect anything personal. The only data we collect is what you type into the contact form (name, email address, and your message), which is sent through a form processor called Web3Forms and forwarded to Mark's inbox. There are no accounts, no newsletter, and no data collected from you just for visiting a page.

Why we collect it

Solely to reply to your message, whether that's a price correction, a school suggestion, or a general enquiry. Submitting the form is treated as your consent for us to use those details for that reply. Messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve what you contacted us about, then deleted.

Who we share it with

Web3Forms processes the contact form submission on our behalf; see their privacy policy. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else for marketing.

Cookies and local storage

This site stores one thing in your browser: whether you've switched to light mode, saved in local storage so it doesn't reset every visit. That preference stays on your device, is never sent to us, and can't identify you. We don't run analytics or advertising cookies of our own.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site (to platforms and gear like Splice, FL Studio, Loopcloud, Loopmasters and UVI, for example) are affiliate links: if you sign up or buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking one takes you to that company's own site, which may set its own tracking cookie to credit us that commission. We don't control that cookie and don't receive any personal data from it, just confirmation that a referral happened. How commissions do and don't affect what we recommend is covered on the methodology page.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Vercel, which, like any host, processes standard server logs (IP address, browser type, request time) for security and to keep the site running. We don't use this to identify individual visitors.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct, or delete any data we hold on you, or object to how it's used. Email mark@soundschooled.co.uk and we'll deal with it. If you think we've mishandled your data, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we use it changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will move.
