East Riding College
East Riding College's specialist music department sits at its Baker Street campus in Hull, in the former Rhythm Rooms building close to the city centre, and runs music courses from Level 2 through to a validated BA (Hons) Music Production degree. The Level 2 and Level 3 programmes cover studio and live production, studio and live engineering, and specialist technology study alongside performance and composition units.
The department has its own in-house record label, ERC Academy Records, used to release material students write, perform and produce, plus rehearsal space and a professional recording studio. Level 2 entry needs three GCSEs at grade 3 or above, ideally including English or maths; Level 3 needs four GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths. The Level 2/3 provision lists a combined tuition and exam fee of £999 each.
The higher education pathway lets students complete an HNC in the first year and progress to an HND, or continue onto the BA (Hons) Music Production or BA (Hons) Popular Music Performance degrees, both taught at the Hull site.
