Anglia Ruskin University

Anglia Ruskin University's Cambridge campus, on East Road, CB1 1PT, runs two undergraduate degrees in this area: BA (Hons) Music Production and BSc (Hons) Audio and Music Technology. Both are 3 years full-time, extending to 4 years with a placement or foundation year, and both use Pro Tools, Logic Pro and Ableton Live across five recording studios with analogue, digital and hybrid mixing desks, plus five grand pianos and a podcast/video capture setup.

UK tuition is £9,790/yr for 2026/27 (£17,500 for international students, plus £1,700 for the optional placement year). The Audio and Music Technology degree carries JAMES accreditation. The university holds a Gold Teaching Excellence Framework award and was named Times Higher Education University of the Year in 2023.

Modules cover mixing and mastering, sound design for games and film, and professional DJ techniques, taught by staff including senior lecturers Richard Edwards, Dr Sven-Amin Lembke and Dr Chanan Hanspal, technical team leader Mark Pickering, lecturer Tim Webster and Deputy Head of School Dr William Campbell. Guest sessions have included a masterclass from pop producer Phil Harding, who has produced for the Clash, Killing Joke, Dead or Alive, Belinda Carlisle, Rick Astley and East 17.
