Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies
private schoolFounded in 1994 by Craig Chettle as Confetti Studios, renamed Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies in 2010 and acquired by Nottingham Trent University in 2015. Worth knowing before assuming this is the same offering as it was a few years ago: as of July 2025, 'Confetti College' itself covers Level 3 Extended diploma-level courses only: the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Audio & Music Technology, or in Music Performance and Songwriting, both free for eligible 16-18 year olds, with no fee-paying adult route published for either. The FdA Music Production foundation degree once taught under the Confetti name has moved to NTU's Nottingham School of Art & Design, at £9,790/yr for UK students in 2026/27, mirroring the same de-branding that happened at the Confetti London ('NTU London') site, so don't assume 'Confetti' still means Confetti-taught at degree level. This is a genuinely different entity/branding situation from Confetti London: Nottingham keeps the Confetti name for its Level 3 college courses and its Metronome building, while London dropped Confetti branding entirely. Teaching happens from the Metronome facility: a 400-capacity venue (228 seated), 20 rehearsal spaces, 10 recording/editing/mastering studios and a 48-channel SSL Duality Delta console in Studio 1.

private schoolDescribes itself as Nottingham's only DJ academy, opened September 2018 by Charlie Fletcher alongside Charlie Clay and Scott Warren, after Fletcher couldn't find anywhere in the East Midlands offering the kind of DJ tuition he'd found at a similar academy in Manchester. One-to-one DJ lessons and multi-month production courses on Pioneer, Technics, Native Instruments, Ableton, Logic and Serato, across three teaching suites, a group session room and a production studio. 1-to-1 DJ lessons start from £20 (exact session length varies by booking); DJ booth hire without tuition is separately available from £10/hour off-peak. Music Learning Collective, West Bridgford
private schoolThe founding branch of the Music Learning Collective group, in West Bridgford, founded by Paul Hose in 2007 after he opened his own standalone music school in 2004; he'd previously taught in music institutions across the UK and Singapore. Registered as a not-for-profit: Music Learning Collective C.I.C. (Companies House no. 05544487, a Community Interest Company, active). One-to-one DJ and music production tuition alongside instrumental lessons, billed as a monthly subscription: a weekly 30-minute lesson is £74.50/month, covering 42 lessons across the academic year in 12 equal instalments. The same rate applies across instruments and to music production lessons specifically. The site's navigation now lists 'MLC West Bridgford' and 'MLC Nottingham' as the same location, and folds in several school-based teaching outposts (Arnold Hill Academy, Chetwynd Academy, Dovedale Primary, Gotham Primary) under that Nottingham banner alongside the standalone Abbey Road premises.
Nottingham College
further educationFormed in 2017 from the merger of New College Nottingham and Central College Nottingham; New College itself traced back to Clarendon College (founded 1919) and High Pavement, which started as a school in 1788. Teaches a Level 1 Music Technology course (full-time, one year) at the City Hub campus, plus (since a prior check on this listing, when the page 404'd) a genuine UAL Level 2 Diploma in Music Technology has since gone live, also one year full-time. There's still no dedicated Level 3 music production or performance course here: the Level 3 route in the Performing Arts department is Dance, Musical Theatre or Acting only, not music, so don't assume a full Level 1-to-3 music pathway exists on this campus. Not to be confused with Confetti (a separate, Nottingham Trent University-owned institution nearby). Both music courses are free for ages 16 to 18; fees for 19+ adult learners aren't published for either. The Performing Arts department at City Hub has a 158-seat theatre, dance studios and a set design studio.
