private schoolPart of ACM's three-campus network, all operated by a single legal entity, ACM Guildford Limited, whose TEF Bronze (2023) rating and Middlesex University degree validation cover Birmingham too. A part-time evening course (Production For Adults, 10 weeks) is £350 a term; the Extended Diploma (UAL Level 3, 2 years) is £6,000 a year, free for 16 to 18s; the 2-year accelerated BA is £11,750 a year, or £9,790 for an optional Foundation Year 0. Pricing is set nationally and identical across all three ACM campuses. ACM's own tutor pages give no outside credits for named Birmingham staff, so treat 'industry-active tutors' as an unverified marketing claim; its network-wide alumni claims (Ed Sheeran, Rag'n'Bone Man) aren't tied to Birmingham specifically.
Access Creative College Birmingham
private schoolTeaches the RSL Level 3 Extended Diploma in music production (2 years) at its Deritend campus, free for 16 to 18 year olds; 19+ students pay via an Advanced Learner Loan, with year 2 fees only confirmed once progression is confirmed. The school genuinely doesn't publish a year 2 figure, and its heavily JS-rendered site made the £2,882 first-year figure difficult to freshly re-verify to the penny this pass, though its structure was independently corroborated. Part of a national network founded in Birmingham in 1992 as Access to Music by John Ridgeon (rebranded 2017), delivered in partnership with awarding body Rockschool/RSL. The operating company is still registered at the Birmingham campus address. Ofsted's most recent inspection (2025/26) rated the college 'Expected Standard' overall; in July 2025 the wider group suspended courses at its Nottingham partner site over funding, worth knowing given it's the same national provider, though not a Birmingham-specific issue.
DJ Gym Birmingham

One-to-one DJ and production courses from £329 (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced, 4 lessons of 2 hours each), run under London Sound Academy's curriculum. Unsupervised Studio Hire (2-hour session, no tutor) is separately available from £50 (cheaper, but room rental rather than tuition). Based in Digbeth, Birmingham's creative quarter; head tutor Marc Spence is a Birmingham-born DJ/producer whose track 'Nasty' reached #1 on Beatport's Tech House chart on Dirtybird Records (Claude VonStroke's label), and who has played Global Gathering UK, Space and Pacha in Ibiza, and the inaugural Sonar Festival Barcelona.
